A Second Breath, the Story Behind Our Name.
Share
Every business has a name. Some are chosen because they sound catchy. Others because they're memorable. A Second Breath is different. Our name wasn't created by a marketing company. It was born from a journey that forever changed my life.
After complications from surgery, I developed sepsis, a life-threatening medical emergency that sent my body into septic shock. My organs began to fail, and my friends and family were told I had only a 5 percent chance of surviving. By God's grace, the extraordinary dedication of medical professionals and the unwavering love, prayers and support of my friends and family, I survived. When you're given a second chance, everything looks different. You notice small things again. You realize that each day is a gift.
Recovery and rehabilitation was a long and difficult process that took many months. As I began rebuilding my life, a dream that had been growing in my heart started to take shape. I didn't want to create just another thrift store - I have done that before. I wanted to create a place filled with hope. A place where beautiful things are given another opportunity to be appreciated. A place where quality clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry, and accessories aren't discarded simply because they've been loved before. Every purchase helps extend the life of something beautiful. Every gives an item a new purpose. Every visit is a chance to discover something unique while making a positive impact on our community and our environment.
More importantly, it's about people. We hope A Second Breath becomes a place where conversations happen, friendships are formed, generosity is shared, and everyone feels like they belong. You're becoming part of something much bigger than a store. You're becoming part of a story built on resilience, faith, hope and second chances.
Thank you for believing in this journey. Thank you for believing that hope can grow. And thank you for being part of A Second Breath. Welcome to ours.
God Bless,
Nicole Grigorov
